Healing our Wounds with Power. July 8th 7pm MT
Every wound that we experience in our lives is related to our relationship with power. In order to heal, we must reclaim it.
When we are hurt or violated, the perpetrator has abused their power with us, and that distorts our relationship with power, ourselves. When we are abandoned, or believe ourselves to be, that disrupts our trust in the flow of life's goodness and makes it more difficult to access our power.
Perhaps even the word—power—has have a bad connotation to it, as is so often when we are talking about power, we are talking about people, or systems that are abusing it. Abuse of power does not define power, itself. Power is vitality, creativity, expression, connection, freedom, and belonging. When power is abused, it distorts those qualities. It becomes the method for spreading trauma, enslaving minds and bodies, stifling creativity, and dividing us internally, and amongst each other.
The solution to the abuse of power is to learn to embody power with skillfulness and compassion!
In this online, interactive, class we will explore the personal and collective nature of our wounds with power. We will discuss when forgiveness is detrimental vs when it is emotionally inappropriate. We will engage in processes that will take you into your wounds, and show you where you stored your power when you were too young, too hurt, or too scared to access it. We will discuss survival strategies that we employ to help keep us safe, and how to dismantle them when we no longer need them.
This will be a deep dive, taken with respect and compassion. Any triggers that arise will be handled with care.
The class will be 90 minutes, interactive, and recorded for anyone who cannot attend live.
